MPAC OVERVIEW
The "MPAC" (im-pac) system is a tightly integrated group of software modules addressing the challenges of modern production, inventory control, and planning for the modern enterprise. The fundamental operating concepts utilized throughout the MPAC syste are accepted industry standards endorsed by leading professional societies and consulting groups (APICS, MRP/MRP-II, ERP, GAAP, DISA, etc). Enhanced features have also been employed to allow MPAC to excel in its accuracy, responsiveness, and ease of us . The system is menu driven and is designed to be tutorial in operation. The menus and operator security functions to be employed by the system are specified through simple file maintenance procedures and may be easily modified by the user (or system admi istrator). Operator instructions are available via on-line, context-sensitive help. The standard file maintenance functions of enter, change, delete, inquire, print, compressed-listing-print, as well as popular integrated database features such as mass-change, mass-delete, and ad-hoc custom file listing generation by selected criteria a e provided for each of the system's master files. Free-form text and scanned attachment functionality is provided, allowing text and/or images to be attached to data records throughout the system (select files, i.e. inventory master file allow drawings and item specifications to be additionally attached . A select-data-items function is provided enabling each user to customize the file maintenance displays by removing unneeded/unused data fields. Additionally, copy functions are included in support of "same as except" processing. Import and export dat functions are provided to assist in the exchange of data with other hardware/software or database systems. Reports are available in printed or on-screen form. 132 column displays are utilized as appropriate. Report generators allow reports of up to 166 columns. Reports may also be faxed or archived into MPAC Document Imaging. Each of these features contribut s to convenient access to pertinent information. Where appropriate, transactions are posted as they are entered in order to maintain the most current information at all times. Transactions may also be retrieved for correction at any time prior to the on-demand generation of the associated transaction egister. System management functions are also included for the maintenance of the system's data files, menus, security specifications, and operating parameters. The user interface is selectable per workstation as primarily GUI or primarily text-based. In addition, the following general features are offered throughout the product:
