System Management
The MPAC System Management functions provide for the entry and
maintenance of information regarding the configuration of
hardware, software, and data files to be employed by the system.
Facilities are also provided for the establishment of operators
and their security authorizations, for data file status reporting
and reorganization, and for the importing of data to or exporting
of data from various files.
System parameter maintenance provides for access to system wide
operating parameters such as the directories to be used and the
format of exported files. Job parameters refer to specifications
concerning an individual workstation such as a default operator
login, terminal type, and preferred printer for hard copy output.
Company name and address provides access to the standard company
name information used by various screens, reports, and documents.
Terminal specifications functions support the entry and reporting
of the control codes and commands used by various keyboards and
displays.
Operator/security and menu specifications functions allow for the
entry and maintenance of users, groups, passwords, and menu
screens.
Data file specifications functions provide for the entry and
reporting of information relating to data files and their status.
Data files may be periodically reorganized through the associated
function.
Import/export functions are provided for those data files for
which these functions are unavailable elsewhere in the system.
