Quoting & Estimating

       The Quoting & Estimating system provides functions for the
       creation and costing of new inventory items, the recording,
       printing, tracking, and purging of quotations, and the conversion
       of quotations into booked customer orders.

       Functions are included for the copying and deleting of complete
       item data bases including the inventory record and any associated
       bill of material or routing.  New items created may be designated
       as being either temporary or permanent records.  After the
       creation of new items through the copy item data base function,
       any records pertaining to that item may be modified through the
       use of the file maintenance functions provided.  Detail cost
       buildups according to user-specified control parameters may also
       be performed on newly created items.  Temporary items which have
       no activity may be purged from the system by item number or last
       activity date.

       Quotations may be entered, printed, converted to customer orders,
       or purged from the system.  Quote line items may be designated as
       normal line items or options.  The purge function can be
       controlled by a range of quote numbers or a quote expiration
       date.
