Image Processing
The MPAC image processing functions provide for the display and
manipulation of image data. This allows for interactively
improving, modifying, and adjusting images for human viewing.
Display and manipulation functions are prefaced by a standard
file selection screen. The user may specify an image to be
processed, request a range of image names to be displayed for
selection, or request a list of all available images to be
displayed.
File formats supported include TIFF, PCX, and raw image files.
Rendering may be in monochrome, grayscale, or full color. File
format and image rendering determinations are made automatically.
Display operators include page up/down, center, home, end, pan,
zoom, and negate. Zoom may be from 1% to 30,000%. At high zoom
rates, detail is intelligently manufactured via normalized-
distance interpolation. Updated images may be saved in the TIFF
format.
System management functions are provided for the maintenance of
various system operating parameters. The directory to be used
for storing image data may be specified here. An indicator is
provided as to whether initial presentation should be in positive
or negative rendering. Percentages are available for initial
presentation size and pan and zoom increments. A switch is also
provided as to whether a histogram may be displayed.
